... made it easier to decide upon turning them into a park. But still; camping has become part of the American culture. (At least for some. Oprah spent a whole episode on interesting the public for camping. Without apparent success.) And it's fun. Even if your heater gave up. Tomorrow our drive to Lake Tahoe [pronounce Ta-Ho]. All scenic route along the 89. Or as Alice would state it: more trees. PS. I made ****** pictures, but most on my camera so I'll update some when I'm on wifi ...

... the Milky Way. But at the Manzanita campground we found a spot. Just 1 mile from the north-entrance of the park. Nice between the trees. We are building a campfire. It's gonna be cold tonight. Alice gathered additional wood. No hookup, so we are a bit more camping. I hope this cooler weather ...

... ridge before I descended down into Belden. The descent was steep, from 7000 feet to 2000 feet, with lots of poison ivy to dodge on the way down. Descending down, you begin to see the north fork of the Feather River and the podunk town of Belden, if it can even be called that. The trail crosses the Belden Resort that apparently was completely rented out for the weekend for some big rave festival called Camp **** It Up. ...

... well. As I was nearing Buck's Lake Road, a mountain biker spooked me, coming at me from behind. WTF!!!! Apparently he ignored the signs plastered all over the trail. NO MOUNTAIN BIKES OR MOTORIZED VEHICLES. And he had the audacity to tell me to move. I said to him, "Do you know you are on the PCT? No mt. bikes allowed." He simply said, "ya, I know, have a good day." What a jerk!! Apparently other ...
