One a trip organized by the Mount Holyoke Outing club, I climbed my first hike ever! Day one we climbed Owls peak, approximately a 4 hours hike. Day 2, we climbed Mt. Phelps (the 36th/46th highest peaks in the Adirondacks) took almost 8-9 hours. It was certainly worth the view at the top, more so at Owls Peak due to the foliage. Although, Mount Phelps truly felt like an accomplishment with it being such an excruciating and long hike. ...

Because of the intermittent, but consistent rain, we were unable to climb. So what did we do with all of our days?
... saw signs for a Farmer's Market, Ben pulled over and we got out to check it out. We came out with a fresh loaf of honey wheat bread, a jar of homemade strawberry rhubarb jelly, bacon maple cookies (Yummy!) and a whoopie pie (two chocolate cake cookies that had a peanut buttery cream center...this was very tasty!).
We also purchased a huge growler of pure maple syrup from New Hampshire.

The dinner bell summoned us back to the main lodge. We were seated at a table for eight and our delicious supper was served family style. Pork roast. Tuesday. Just as Betty promised. All is right in the world. Sunset.
