    ... but then I start thinking. With a new car, it won’t break down on me, and it will be less likely to slide off the roads into a snow ditch in the winters, like the VW Bug did that my friend from MSU drove us home in for the holidays. Most importantly, it will be able to go 120 mph easily like our 1963 Chrysler without shaking and making rattling noises.

    Planning a menu for each 5-7 days also helps in managing the use of the fridge, which is not huge, and keeping things fresh. We would plan out 5 meals and the other two would either be leftovers or a rollover meal- using food from another meal to make it into something new. ...

    ... till 3pm!

    This pic shows what part of the camper looked like initially- essentially our table/couch was unusable. Over the next several weeks we did organize and will share how and what we did to make it livaeable.

    BTW KOA Higgins Lake, although a little pricey, is a very nice, clean and well run campground and we highly recommend it as an alternative to the State Park Campgrounds in the area if they are full.

    ... smart Amish had the only chairs at the fair cleverly placed inside the barn where the quilt auction was, so we settled down in out of the rain and watched the auction for a couple of hours. Next time we will go to the office, get a number, and bid. Quilt tops were going for $25 dollars. I saw later that over to the side, you could put on gloves to go through the quilts and then wait to bid on them when their lot numbers came up. I saw ...

    Next day we visited some more Florida/Michigan friends, who are both celebrating milestone birthdays. They had a pig roast on Saturday with all their family and friends.
