Remarkable
21st December
Boza - Well today we decided to drive down to Queenstown a 7-8hr drive from Christchurch
We drove ( well I drove ) the 500kms via Ashburton, Lake Tekapo through Twizel and into MT COOK national Park and through central Otago and turned off at Cromwell which took us to Queenstown.
Nic wanted to go to Lake Tekapo …
A sub 24 hour hatrick.......
Yep - The good old NZ bill got me again, 118 kph in a 100 kph limit, 180 dollar fine - Thats a hat trick of tickets in less than 24 hours - Back of the net... Now that HAS to be a record !!! AND all accumulated in a bloody Toyota hatchback.
Every bloody crossroads and laybye in this country seems to have its very own traffic cop, all sat there …
Another day of driving
Before taking off we stopped at an old church in tekapo had a coffee/tea break then started the drive to queenstown. we stumbled upon this cool town called arrowtown that we will be going back to so we have a better look around.
Arrived in Queenstown.
Walked around town.
Bought supplies for dinner.
Had dinner on the balcony over looking the lake and mountains.

... It is over the top cowboy decor. We sat by the fire and enjoyed a few pints.
We will miss Queenstown. It is everything that we heard it would be since arriving in New Zealand.
Tomorrow we fly to Papeete, Tahiti via Aukland to recover from the adrenaline. The plane arrives late and you spend the night in Papeete ( Pa-pee-et-tay) and catch a morning flight to Bora ...
