6805 State Highway 80 Cooperstown, New York, United States, 13326
After seeing the bridges we took a leasurly pace and headed towards Buffalo New York State
We were traveling the back roads admiring the small townships but this slows down your traveling so stopped at a great looking diner all chrome and art decorated about 7 pm. This turned out to be a modern reproduction which even served alcohol I had a burger and Cath had a roast beef roll they called it something else but I forget ...
... the campgrounds store had a can opener for sale. So now, every can of corn beef hash we open - we know we can thank KOA Cooperstown for it. I like that.
Chris bought Sunflowers for Laila and I.
And we only left the campground once - to get some supplies. Other than that - we blissfully wallowed in simple camping life. Went on a hay ride ...
... level to stay warm, you are going to beat the luggage to the hotel. I had lunch today soaking wet, but the hot chocolate was the best I have ever had. Now I am in my hotel room with the heat on (drying my shoes that I will need tomorrow), the hot shower was also the best I have ever had. It's nice to be warm!
Little Falls, New York, United States bot989... house. They had not seen each other in about ten days -- tragic! LOL. Sami and Kevin decided that they would take me to PJ BBQ on Route 9 in Saratoga to make up for missing Brooks BBQ. I was very excited and quickly invited our friends Steve & Joanne to join us.
The food at PJ's is excellent! We had a wonderful dinner. It was the perfect way to end our trip!
... the FunPlex just outside of downtown Cooperstown and challenged each other to a friendly, family game of mini golf. The course was older and while very clean, the holes were not well maintained. The rims of all the holes were bent metal so even if you had the perfect shot, the ball had a mind of its own. It made for an interesting game and we had a lot of fun!!
Cooperstown, New York, United States dmassoud... arrived just in time to catch Kevin pitching. He did well and did not let up any runs! The other team started the bottom of the inning letting up a couple of walks. Kevin came up to bat and started the team's rally by hitting an RBI single! WOO HOO! Our team came back to win the game!! It was a great day!
After the game we headed back to Jellystone to enjoy a delicious dinner.
This morning we traveled the last 35 minutes to Yogi Bears' Jellystone Park in Cooperstown, New York. We arrived and finished setting up right before the rain started. So we settled in to watch a movie - Night at the Museum 2.
The campground is very nice, with lots of amenities. The only downside -- NO CELL SERVICE! The boys are going through text withdrawal. I have to admit, I was ...
Around 8:30pm Ronny & Kevin decided they wanted to leave for the weekend. So, we packed the rest of the stuff into the camper and took off. We spent the night in WalMart parking lot in Oneonta, New York. We arrived around midnight. The boys hiked it over to Burger King expecting a snack. Unfortunately, only their ...
Oneonta, New York, United States dmassoud... don't see much on the Interstates and I am all about taking in everything possible there is to see. I only got us on a really narrow road once back in Maine - although he didn't say anything I think he was about to doubt my mapping ability! lol!! He hasn't taken the map away from me yet! Good thing because his sense of direction is somewhat ????? oh well, you have to love him!!! I do!!!
We made it almost to Syracuse ...
... in avoidance of doing things that might possibly get us kicked out because we really wanted to get as much as we could out of the park, but things got weird nonetheless! One thing that we noticed was that a whole gamut of the figural pieces must have been done by the same person, as a whole series of the characters looked, quite frankly, like zombies. There was no getting around it. The park must get REALLY spooky at night. In fact, looking back ...
