... then stopped at one of the parks to get some information. On our way there we saw a sign for a wild elk area and drove up to it to see if we could see the elk. It was a pretty isolated spot, but we didn't see anything so we kept driving. A few miles up the road were cabins you could rent, and wouldn't you know, there were all the the people begging for food! We decided they probably liked cheetos from human vs. hunting for their own food.

hi folks we're here at patrick and kate flan****n's beautiful home, set in the middle of a vineyard, with a pool, lovely fruit trees, flowers and cabans - then in the distance, the mountains. very picturesque indeed. ... it into my car. I high-tail it back down the road, passing the stream that had caused me such a headache the night before, now being innocently played in by a couple kids, almost to mock me. Needless to say I enjoyed the descent down the mountain a lot more without the fear of uncertainty and of my safety. I have learned the valuable lesson of doing at least some research to where I'm traveling and the limits of my four-wheeled compadre.

After lighting the fire with a propane-powered flame torch, it very quickly became clear that my concerns about the grass were well founded and the fire started to rapidly spread out. Mercedes, Nicole and I were the olive oil bottling crew, but first we worked on clearing out the outdoor barn extension in front of the wine bar. We moved plywood, bikes, outdoor chairs, ladders, large olive oil containers and plastic packing crates. Then we swept the floor and Eric spent a good deal of the day pressure washing the metal wall.
