We decided to have our engine parts shipped and we got a 10 day pass for the lock system: a whopping $37.50!! We moved down to Fort Edward at Lock #7 for a few nights. There is free power and water, as well as bathroom and showers. No internet though- we walked over a half hour to McDonald's in the new section of town to get internet. The town has some ...

We saw docks in front of a closed marina/restaurant, dock for a functioning marina, and the docks to tie up waiting for the lock to open. After dinner, Otto headed to Stewart's for ice cream for Milo - but got lost - while I went to Stewart's for gas and ended up meeting them there. I only got gas.

It was a lovely way for the last paddling excursion of the season - sadly only my second!

... stop and take a picture of the statue of American Indians playing lacrosse. Our grandson Christopher is a great lacrosse player and we knew he would be interested. South of LaCrosse we encountered a detour which stymied our GPS. After a pause she came up with another route which was not looking good from the start. We plodded on with the road becoming slightly more narrow as we proceeded. After five and a half miles we encountered a very large ...

... second pair somewhere around the area, most likely at the mine yesterday. After I manage to find a new pair of sunglasses, Alex was really hoping the same lady would be in the store so I would have to explain, we head out to the outfitters. We had the usual safety orientation as we took a bus ride to the river. We all carried the raft to the water and off we went. The scenery was beautiful and the water crisp. There was only one time when I thought I might be riding the rapids without ...
