... LOTS of Chinese Chinese, either by tour bus, or drive by themselves. Also quite a bit of Indians. I vowed not to visit another tourist spot after this, at least for the next day or two.

Done Horseshoe Bend, un-impressed, moving on to Kanab, and trying to hike a bit. We were deterred by a big pool of water, uncertain of the depth, we turned around. The next trail we tried, we had trouble finding the "gate" leading to ...

... to Page what is about an hour away from Kanab. Here we visited the Antelope Canyon and the Horseshoe Bend. The Antelope Canyon is only accessible via a guide. You pay 28 USD for the Lower Canyon, and a little bit more for the Upper Canyon (but the guy in the info center didn't recommended to go to the Upper one in winter). ... the park was not worth the cost of possible needed repairs on the motorhome and turned around.

Our next choice was to book a tour. The ones in the park started at $75 for 1 1/2 hours and went up from there. We had stayed at the Goulding Campground which also includes a motel, museum, restaurant, trading post and tours. Maybe their tours were cheaper. So back to Gouldings we went. Sure enough, they had a tour $29 cheaper. The ...

      ... the difference now!

Rounding horseshoe bend: we shouted up to the hikers 800 feet above.

My low point and the kids’ high point from the rafting

I left my flip flops on the beach and so had to be carried up the hot metal and ridged steps by my knight in shining armour (Olav!) The kids obviously thought this was hilarious, which it probably was.

On a recommendation from Kris, our B&B host, we headed off to Antelope ...
