... area had been hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. We explored Metedeconk River, Manasquan River, Kettle Creek, Manasquan Inlet, Pt. Pleasant Canal where we passed the Intracoastal Marker #1 for NJ.

The Nydams brought a fried chicken lunch for us all that was enjoyed aboard anchored in a lovely spot. Our 4 hours on the water went quickly and provided memories of a lifetime.

... and eat lunch. We have no real plans for today and realise we need more food, so we head out in search of a grocery store around 2pm. We end up finding a grocery store and stock up on some food supplies. We got some great bakery sales, and a smores kit for our last night tomorrow in the wilderness.

... campground but this might change in the next few years. There are hiking trails here and the best part is that the Allaire Village Historic Site is right next to the Park Office. At this time of year they are only open on weekends and charge $5 to park after Memorial Day, yet we parked in there and visitors are allowed and encouraged to walk around all the restored Howell Iron Works Company, Railroad, picnic area and its village. ... goes this Forest. It is also part of the Pinelands Natural Reserve. The bathrooms are older but they do have showers. We would return here if near the area again but it was so peaceful because during the week at this time of year there were only about five sites taken.
