... is an Art Gallery, botanic gardens, view of LA etc at 1pm for lunch. Ash & Kristi got there about 12:15. We were trying to get there by one, first up the GPS took us up all these curly back streets in a residential area until we finally got to a sign that said, you will not get to the Getty centre, your GPS is wrong. Finally worked out where to go, got there and the queues into the Carpark were enormous ...

... We then took a trip back to Rick and Liz's hotel to freshen up before we headed to Universal's City Walk. Now we didn't prepare for the traffic, as there was a Halloween event going on. Now Americans LOVE Halloween, they go crazy for it. It's like Christmas for them, with loads of decorations outside, giant pumkins, witches, cobwebs, you name it. Some houses actually look pretty scary. They also start putting their decorations at the start of October.Madness. So yeah ...

... billowing stainless steel walls reflecting light as the days light changes. The Civic Centre is an elegant Art Deco building that still stands out.

We walked through the newer financial district to the old downtown part, which I stayed in the late 1970s. The area is even more grungy. It is sad to see the old Art Deco buildings and theatres in disrepair. Enjoyed browsing in "The Last Book shop" which provided some comfy seats.

... we arrive in Hollywood to be yelled at my so tourist tout he wants us to go on his little rubbish bus to see the homes of famous celebrities to which both me and em do our best usa in bolt impressions and take off down the street and into the local Starbucks !!! We walked around Hollywood to see the stars and the Chinese theatre which is all their really is to see in Hollywood !!!! It was fun to tick of the list but as Steve said is kinda tacky these days ...
