Waiting for Weather

The boat is now in Hampton, VA. Much to my relief there is no damage from the boats exit through the ice up in Annapolis. Apparently as the crew approached the last 1/4 mile the ice thickened to 1"+, but at that point they were committed (having already gone more than a mile), being impractical to turn around. I was back at the marina in Annapolis yesterday and the ice was even thicker. We would have ...

It was a great family outing. Although the weather was quite chilly in the low 40s, we all enjoyed our time together.
Tomorrow will be bitter sweet, having breakfast with the family before leaving for Florida. ...

I started the day with a 10+ mile bike ride today. The weather was great, with no wind and I really enjoyed the ride.
I had some extra time on my hands, so I decided to do a little sight seeing today. I visited the Army Transportation Museum, located here on Fort Eustis, where I have my trailer parked.
I spent over 3 hours on the tour and took almost ...

Goodbye Monteleones, Hello Colonial Williamsburg

... I had contacted. We entered it into the GPS and it took us somewhere totally different. At this point we were frustrated and hungry. The only person handling it well was Hugo! We have up all together, found a place to eat, got ice cream (stress reducer) and headed straight to Colonial KOA in Williamsburg. Went swimming for 2 hours and relaxed. The second we got to the pool our moods changed and we were ready for more adventures.

To Colonial Williamsburg we ...

    Very clean

    from

just returned from staying for 5 nights in williamsburg. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. we had a deluxe room...2 double beds and a pull out sofa. we slept 3 adults and 2 15 year olds with plenty of room. Bathroom was clean as was the whole room. staff was very helpful and friendly. I usually am very uncomfortable in hotel rooms but I must say this is the 1st time in a long time I felt comfortable. i will stay here again if the opportunity arises and would recommend it to anyone especially families

    Clean rooms, friendly service

    from

Stayed one night in a deluxe room. It was clean, bathroom was bright and everything worked well. We could have used a small refrigerator as the weather was hot and humid, the tap water is warm, and the ice maker could not keep up with the demand - there were no vacancies at this hotel. Staff was very helpful. The outlet malls down the road worked well as a rainy day diversion.

    Great value

    from

    stayed a couple days on business.first time at a laquinta.very nice facility,great location,and courteous staff.would recommend.

    Clean Rooms

    from

Our room was very clean! And at a very good rate. We really enjoyed our stay

    Great Hotel

    from

When my wife and I pulled up to the LaQuinta we were surprised by the exterior corridors. Being from texas where they are all interior, but we checked in anyway Well, The room was spotless, the staff was great and very helpful on issues in the area. Even the manager was helpful and so funny he really made us feel at home. The only complaint I have is not being able to stay longer.

    LaQuinta

    from

Not the greatest hotel, but the rooms were clean and the morning buffet was good to save some extra $. The location is perfect for the area and all the sites/excursions are nearby. So, if your looking for just a hotel to stay in but don't plan on spending time there, this is the perfect spot. Resort sales reps were a bunch of scammers.

    Stay somewhere else!

    from

Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This La Quinta is not of the same quality as those out west. The hairdryer blew out the entire electricity for our room, and I had to go to the front desk to get it reset. The lock on our room died (automatic reader) and I had to make three trips to the front desk to get this fixed. The breakfast offered left something to be desired; no cream cheese for the bagels; no fresh fruit; and the juice tasted like kool-aid. With all the other hotels available in Williamsburg, you would be better off staying somewhere else.

    Great location & breakfast

    from

We booked the La Qunita Williamsburg through Priceline and got a pretty good rate. It was a standard motel chain, rooms were clean and a good size. The pool was nice and they had a free, well stocked continental breakfast every morning. The location was great - with 10/15 minutes of Colonial Williamsburg, Water Country & Busch Gardens. Also many family restaurants within walking distance. My only complaint was that one of our non-smoking rooms REEKED of cigarette smoke. We mentioned it to the front desk who said they would take care of it (but I'm not really sure what they did, if anything). We ended up buying some Lysol & Febreeze to spray down everything in the room.

    Our trip

    from

Our trip and stay at LaQuinta was great. It was close to shopping outlets and Amusement Park. Rooms can use some plumbing improvements. The Deluxe Breakfast is Outstanding. The Swimming pool could use improvement. And the staff was very, very considerate and kind.

    Stay at La Quinta!

    from

Excellent! Staff was incredible! They were all attentive and caring and really made sure we had a wonderful vacation.

The room was spotlessly clean and in great condition.

I loved the outside pool and the breakfast in the morning. Superb! I recommend staying here next time you visit Williamsburg
