    We saw on the news this morning how bad the forest fires are. A fire burnt down a town yesterday. Also there is flash flooding in Utah! Glad we were not camping in Utah now - or driving. Also heard about the sniper shooting at cars in Arizona, so glad to be taking a different route - good to know!!! Apparently today we are on a typical American road trip.     ... and I get pulled over right before a toll booth where there was construction going on so I had a coned off area to pull over in.

    I was scratching my head on this one......but, what are the chances that I get pulled over right in front of the Toll highway maintenance garage? Slim, but there I was. A gentleman from the shop pulls across the median to see if I need help........30 seconds later, he gets a call that there is a grass fire ...

    We followed the trains all day long, and they were going north with containers, empty coal cars, and what appeared to be cattle cars. And we saw lines of empty coal cars sitting idle waiting for an engine to come and take them somewhere north for a fill.

    The Texas prairies turned to farm land with acres and acres of corn, great pastures with cattle, and that other thing that they do in Texas…oil. ...

    Slept in since we went to bed late. Drove over to the Oklahoma truck stop for breakfast. This time we took photos at the border signs.
