... Christian and I remembered that this was the bull’s eye for Hurricane Katrina and also the home of the family of ABC’s Robin Roberts. She had all the viewers of Good Morning America praying for her aging mother after the hurricane hit. I remember it well. And in Pass Christian there were a few parking spaces in occasional areas, and there was a public beach with a limited sized parking lot and a pier.

... At least two vehicles with some sort of official logo (Wildlife Preserve maybe) on the doors were driving slowly or parked watching the beach areas. No doubt to check the status of the birds. All of the vehicles we encountered were adhering to the speed limit, and not a MPH faster.

... As we approached Tallahassee, I noticed a building cumulus line ahead of us. Though I felt we could get past/over it, it appeared to be right about where our regular descent would commence so I decided not to chance any conflicts and I began the descent early.
