The Journey is packed to the Gills! With the two cats and their carriers, cat litter and boxes, food for the cats, stuff we didn't want to put in storage, clothes, including heavy winter clothes, blankets, in case we get stranded in bad winter weather, etc, etc, etc. There isn't an inch of extra space!

After this we drove to the top of South Mountain Park which is on the southern part of town and is a great overlook of the cities. It is a winding road that has cars, motorcycles and bikers. Since we were up early to start our day we returned to the motorhome.

... passed the Welcome to Arizona sign. It's always fun to drive on I-40 through Arizona as we pass all the old Route 66 roadside attractions. Only in Arizona will you find a teepee on the side of the road. It was a hot drive and so when we got to Flagstaff the trees and cooler temperatures were welcomed! All too soon we started into the Valley and felt the heat increase by the minute.

This is the first of many post I hope. We left home at 7:15 am. Outside temp was already 79.Went down the 60 to get on the 303 loop. Which we thought was done. No such luck! So had to back track till we could get back on the 60 going north at Surprise. Stopped ...
... flowering and others ready to bloom soon. The mountains are beautiful, but once again, different from any that came before them.
We will be spending the next three or four days visiting with Nancy and Dana Schulte and finally after twenty+ years I will be face to face with my dearest and best childhood friend Kim Richards.
It has been a long time overdue but soon it will be our day!
