... but hungry into LAX at 1.30pm Monday and lasted a strange afternoon, a little tired from the plane but not feeling like it was time for bed yet! It was also odd to chat to family on whats app and facebook we'd gone from so far ahead to far behind and we're all out of sync in an even more confusing way!

... was layers of different colours of rocks and deep deep valleys. It was hard to grasp the actual size of it as it was sooo huge. Then we saw another plane and it looked like a tiny bird compared to the mountainous canyon. It was so beautiful it left us all speechless. The river through the canyon was brilliant blue and snaked around and formed beautiful lakes that we could see people boating on. After the canyon flight we hit the road for LA. ... is weird! Yes, it was cool to see people we recognise from TV and stuff but ultimately they are just people, I don’t need to see where they live. It seems awfully invasive, I’d hate it if it were me so wasn’t about to participate.

Our tour was a tour of Hollywood, mainly being shown buildings and told about the history of the area by our driver and guide John, now and forever dubbed the most cynical tour guide in the world. It was hilarious ...
