Friday 27/2 - Had a cheaufered look around Kingston today starting with Fort Henry and a good view down over the CBD. We could not get into the Fort itself as it's closed over winter. Back into the main street of the city then a walk down and back up the main street. We stopped half way for a warm up drink & food at 'Sipps' cafe which looked out onto a public skating rink behind the Town Hall. Only a few people skating and we ...

... s still cold. Michelle went to the airport about 3pm to pick up her brother and his wife who have been to Cuba for a destination wedding. Casey arrived back at the condo dressed in shorts and a T shirt. Obviously a bit warmer where he came from. About 4pm we headed off for Kingston. About a 260km trip. It was a bad time to leave due to peak hour traffic and the 1st part of the journey was very slow even though we ...

I must say, it did confirm the stereotype of the crazy North American entertainment consumer society quite well. Watching the game and all ...

It is hard to believe that it is our last full day on the island. I wanted to do everything I could today; swim, kayak, canoe, swim, and snorkel. Janet started talking about getting a jet-ski for a few hours. I really just wanted to canoe and kayak. I was not really interested in the jet-ski. Mary wanted to try, but I didn't think Kim would want to spend the money and I told her no. We took off in the canoe ...

... on the beach that Kim did not want to go on last night. It was a good thing we did. Kim found a pocketful of beach glass.

Jeff Rand came by today to see how things were going. We asked about Patty Bain’s tombstone or memorial marker. It turns out that it was his mother. They poured her ashes from that spot. He was surprised that we walked to that end of the island.

      When Jeff was ...
