... meet a single unfriendly person.

But this state is boring, boring, boring. The skies are grey, the wind is cold, the roads are terrible, construction is abundant, and there are lots of sad, forgotten houses and towns that we have passed. I can't wait to leave. Someone invent teleportation already.

Okay, Michigan, you have 2 more chances to win me over... Detroit Suburbia and Kalamazoo... we'll see how you fair...

Kudos to Argentina

... no big crowds a lot of times we had entire boats to ourselves. So if you are worried about Argentina in August don't be because it was very much enjoyable.

One other random thing. Don't change money in the airport! The rates are usually horrible. The nice thing about Argentina is that they have a standard rate. This was refreshing for us because in Peru you could go to one spot and the rate would be completely different three doors down. The ...

Feels like I'm forgetting something...

It's a strange feeling that I'm actually the one who is ready for our trip tomorrow morning. Normally, I'm the last-minute packer who crams in way too many things. However, since I had to travel from Portage to Caro meant I packed all my stuff along with a few of Bradley's items.

Mom is getting all of her stuff together. Jo got a majority of Bradley's clothes and other necessities (movies, games, etc) around for me tonight. The ...

we thought about it as we were leaving we said nobody there knows us or
will ever see us again so no problem. Also we realized that when a
place that is servering hundreds of people also can't offer up a high
quality delivery of product irregardless of how much they charged.

This place was over in Frankenmuth, MI and I had heard about this town
many years ago but I'm not sure exactly who in the Twin ...

riding in the rain

Bay city baby! We made it. The first 30 miles it was overcast which
was nice cuz I got a lil burnt yesterday. Then after Midland we hit
the farmland and it started raining. The rain wasn't too bad but the
wind was pretty strong. I threw on some rainy day music to help the
time pass. A lil Ray Lamontagne and then some Regina Spektor. It was
nice riding in the rain.

Now we are getting free food at some weekly bay front festival thing.
Yay free food!

... went parasailing. I thought that it would be rough and a little uncomfortable, but it was the total opposite. We just floated up in the sky and it seemed like we were just sitting still high above the water with an awesome view of the bridge! Next time I am definitely bringing my camera. After that we continued down to Frankenmuth, MI. Frankenmuth ...

... on what I am doing and where I am going (I'll do the best I can), so feel free to check in here now and then to keep up to date on my adventures. Currently, I am in MI, which is not too exciting, but the fact I am leaving so soon has just started to sink in. I have only one week left here, then I return home for a little over a week, and then I depart from the country. It is ...

Home at last!

July 15, 2008 Michigan, USA After 20 months of travel we have finally come home. We are exhausted but had a wonderful time. Thanks for following along. We hope to complete this blog later with some financial summary so you can see how much a trip like this actually costs. If you are interested in that sort of thing check back in a few months. In the meantime we're going to take a long nap.

... I need to look up more adjectives to describe hills--rolling, nestled, springy...etc. are going to get old fast in this place] Apparently (i'm citing Lonely Planet here), Ireland has two distinct personalities. I feel like every city I read about in LP is described in this way. At the same time, I'm excited to discover what these distinct attributes consist of--something like old versus new, I suspect. I love that. Speaking of ...
