... Arrived at hotel and had shower and warmed up. Put the A/C unit to heat. First time on this trip. Ordered in a pizza for lunch and then I tested out the bed quality with a nap. Well I use the term losely as not sure when a nap becomes a sleep but I just couldn't get up. Not even for a milkshake.

Went to dinner at Golden Coral and had a good feed. Other American observation-their lemonade is usually flat.

I think what happened was that I was looking for a site half way between Owosso and Moline (tomorrow's stop) not focusing on the fact that we wanted to see more of Indianapolis. We are staying at Deer Ridge Camping Resort. It is an older campground that did a wonderful job of leaving lots and lots ...

... 110,000 troops clashed. This is still the bloodiest day in American history with 22,717 casualties including 3,654 killed. As a point of perspective, about 2,500 Americans were killed on D-day. Lee lost over 30 percent of his army and had to return across the Potomac. McClellan, fighting to not lose as opposed to win, refused to follow Lee. By November McClellan had been relieved of command. A general who would fight to win had ...

... register us and then one of the "Perms" or permanent residents, who happened to stop in to purchase a couple of sodas, escorted us over to our site. We set up camp in short order as the storm clouds gathered in earnest. The PGA championship golf tournament was being held just south of us in Louisville, Kentucky so we watched it live on TV while we decompressed from the long day ...
