    ... he had just been given by a stranger. It turns out he was getting a lift straight into town from a trail angel, so grabbing the opportunity to avoid another 16 miles of hiking, I jumped in with him.     To avoid an 8+ hour drive from Death Valley to San Fran we broke the trip up with a couple of stop overs.
