A roof over your head and some breakfast

The front desk attendant was super nice and handled our late check-in pleasantly and quickly. The room was large enough to bring our bikes in and the condition was what I expected for the price: not especially nice but clean. The bed was pretty hard. There was free continental breakfast which was a plus!

We drove about 400 miles today. A little further than we had wanted, but we relaxed when we arrived. We are in a very nice RV park, Arkadelphia RV Park. We have driven through much farmland. Soybeans, corn and now some cotton fields. Farmers are praying for dry weather and wind to dry out their fields. The further south we came, the fields are drying enough and the farmers are busy with their ...

... and lake. The MacDonalds prepared a great pulled port dinner for us and shortly after dinner a quick moving rain storm chased us inside to their roomy travel trailer where we played the game "Clue". We marveled at Barbie & Aldon's CSI approach to solving "who done it" but a lucky guess (and a bit of psychic ability), I solved the mystery first!

We arrived here on Tuesday - planning to stay only 2 nights, but when we woke up this morning to pouring rain and read some of the details about the park we were planning to go to (Millwood Landing RPI Membership Park in Ashdown, AR), we decided to just add another $12/day to the automated check-in machine here at Gulpha Gorge and stay until Monday.

... was right next to the Clinton Library. We did not know it was located in Little Rock. It is a charity we have contributed to over the years most recently this past Christmas when we purchased animals in Andrew, Lily, & Michael's names. They have a great learning center for children and a wonderful cafe. After lunch, we are on our way to Austin. Hope to make it before Ailish's bedtime ...

... for the old man; he shouldn't have been working, but like so many others, truth is, he probably had little choice. Anyway he was able to follow the GPS directions, and got us to our hotel. When we were checking in he sheepishly snuck inside the foyer to ask a bell-hop directions back onto the freeway. Disturbing on so many levels. The room was ace, as too the dinner at "Rock Seafood" round the corner. The Holiday Inn wifi was lousy, however, so ...
