... so I went to look. Of course it was off. Made the train anyway, with maybe 8 minutes to spare. Trip was uneventful; train ran on time. Some people don't seem to get the concept of the quiet car, but the conductor took care of that. Arrived in NYC on time about 1:35.

... Battle of Bentonville. Here at Bentonville on March 19 - 21, 1865 the Confederate Army mounted its last tactical offensive against the Union Army of General Sherman. This was the largest Civil War battle fought in North Carolina and once again, the battle occurred over several square miles of forests and farmlands. The Union once again prevailed and within three weeks, on April 9, 1865, Robert E Lee would surrender the Army of Virginia ending the Civil War.

          Greetings Friends,

As I'm writing to you now the weather outside is a lovely 4 degrees. Remember, this is not New Jersey I'm in anymore it's the beginning of the Southern portion of the country. And eeehhh! This gives me more motivation and endurance to keep moving forward toward sunny skies and warm weather highs...
