There was no doubt in my mind that fall had arrived as we left this morning. We were up at 5:30 am to do some last minute packing and be at Shirley's before 7 am. Shirley had been kind enough to let us park the trailer with the Fiat and Richard's bicycle on board in her driveway so we could get a faster get away. And as she said, it got the neighbours talking.

... s sleep and headed out in the rain, one of the few times we have encountered it. Strange because it rained while we were in St. Louis and the short remaining portions of Missouri. Some weird clouds, too! Then, as we crossed the mighty Mississippi into Illinois, it stopped raining. Guess Mother Nature loves Illinois better although it was a dark gloomy sky! We stopped for a break at the Alan Shepherd Museum. There were nice displays and the original movie of the moon landing. I remembered waking up my kids who were 1 and 2 at the time to get up and watch it live. I doubt that they remember it.
There was a display of all the astronauts that came from Ohio. There were a lot, probably more than any other state.
... Cleveland (Hi, Tom and Renee!) and Columbus (Hi, Paige!), but ever onward we sped. Maņana we hope to get just beyond St.Louis with a straight shot to Kansas City Saturday.
