Hit the BP station in Metropolis, IL randomly and the boys were excited to find out that it's Superman's hometown. Even the gas station had these sweet cutouts to pose with. Hope you enjoyed the first of our many trips and adventures! Next up, our float trip - hold on to your hats... P.S. We need a new awning but that's another story for another ...

... southeast wasn't preserved at all. In the early evening I drove into the Land Between the Lakes recreation area to try and find the primarily-submerged location of Fort Henry, and although I made a quick walk to the shoreline near the historic location I wasn't able to take the time to explore the trails leading to the few remaining rifle pits ...

Well Tuesday was one of those days where there is a strange combination of activities.

Firstly, we were finally able to make it to a Quilting shop that was still in business. We drove out to Trenton, Kentucky, only a 30 min drive from Clarksville, to get Marion to the one place she simply "had" to get to on this trip. She was in absolute bliss in this place! I just couldn't get the smile off her face, especially after we walked ...
