What a miserable place!
It's hot as hell, the water in the pool looks like someone poured milk into it, and there is nothing to do in the area.
This is our own fault. We completely spaced about the holiday weekend and this was the ONLY place we could find available anywhere near where we want to go next.

Our hosts, Tom and Pat, are amazing folk and hosts. They like to sleep outside, and the climate is perfect for it, so their bed is outside on a deck overlooking the lake. Best of all Tom and Pat had their grandkids over to stay so all the kids were happy as, playing and swimming off the dock. Their dock was the centre of our lives ...

I touched down in Roanoke Rapids a few weeks ago with the intentions of a short stay, visit some family and enjoy some rest. I had no idea that almost a few weeks later I would be sad to bid my farewell. Coming here ...
