We ended up staying overnight at
Walmart in Gainesville TX. Not a great stop as we weren't very level,
it was a little warm to be comfortable and they had trains all night.
But once again grateful that it was free.
September 29th – day 148
We left Gainesville before 9am and
headed North into Oklahoma on our way towards Amarillo. There was a
slightly more direct route but we wanted to see Lawton ...
... and I get pulled over right before a toll booth where there was construction going on so I had a coned off area to pull over in.
I was scratching my head on this one......but, what are the chances that I get pulled over right in front of the Toll highway maintenance garage? Slim, but there I was. A gentleman from the shop pulls across the median to see if I need help........30 seconds later, he gets a call that there is a grass fire ...
So sadly my nephew will be deploying to the middle east in a few weeks, and so to make some special memories half the family went to Oklahoma to see him and his wife, show support and in all ways have fun. So day one. Enrique Iglesias Concert! Need I see more... SO MUCH FUN!

... feeling pretty badly for the owners of the farmlands and homes that we passed. There were large crops of corn that were flooded almost to the top of the corn stalks. Some fields that looked as though they had just been plowed but now covered with water. Our farmers may have a bad season this year.
We are on our way to New Orleans - a city I have never visited. Anxious to see the city in person after hearing of the sites and culture for so many years.
