    ... supposedly, so there's an awful lot of open (read, boring) space. You can make good time, though, by putting this Axis on cruise control and let 'er fly. We stayed at 70mph across the rest of New Mexico, past Tucumcari (pronounce that right, why don't you?), into Texas panhandle, and kept going through Amarillo (a bigger town that we thought), saw a lot of billboards, and into Oklahoma.     ... into the baggage claim area. Unfortunately the improvements to the airport do not extend to here. It is NOT air conditioned, and although they do have two luggage belts, everyone from both (or all three) flights were having bags sent to the same carrousel. They have never seemed overly efficient getting bags out, since it seems to take an inordinate amount of time. Even after the 45 minute wait

    ... route today would take me basically diagonally northwest from Biloxi, up through Jackson and then the Mississippi Delta region, crossing the Mississippi River into Arkansas at Greenville, MS, along US 82.
