    ... Went for a drive in the afternoon to see the old cheese factory run by John and Eva Kriewaldt. went to a number of cemeteries and took pictures of headstones. Will need time to work out where they all fit in.

    Today Sunday we are all off to Upper Peninsular (UP) for a couple of day. May not have internet and probably no phone. we have no mobile phone here as At&T is not received.

    ... most days and I don't mean to get all sentimental here but this could truly be the last time I ever see them with my wildlife luck. Been chased by a shark on Great Barrier Reef, got a nice baby tiger bite on the foot in Thailand and a few other mishaps with the wild animal kingdom. I sure hope the silver back in Uganda does snap me in two.

    ... I would pay someone to do it. I'm also worried I won't pack the right stuff. Do I pack that extra shirt? Leave it out? What should go in my carry on?

    And shoes. That's its own packing dilemma. It deserves a separate category. Athletic sandals for strolling? Tennies for more athletic activities? Flip flops for the beach and walking around the hotel rooms? A closed clog for when it rains? A nicer pair of heels for nicer dinners out? All of ...

    ... the Canal via the Miraflores Locks, check out the historic Casco Viejo, bike the Amador Causeway, eat cheap ceviche and stroll.

    Monday, April 7th:
    Head to San Blas (Iguana Island) for the day and evening. Hang with the Kuna tribe and pay them $1 to take their photo. (This is what I read. But hey, they have to earn a living, right?) Probably lie on the beach and snorkel. Relax.

    ... seem more reasonable on my pocket book. With the exception of Cartegena, I've been able to secure private rooms with a bathroom for $40 or less per night. Taxis are cheap and abundant in Panama City, and Colombia has an excellent and affordable busing system.
