We had a great stay last night at Bird's Hill Provincial Park, we had a nice little hike in the evening before dinner as well as in the morning after breakfast. If you can call it a hike that is, because apparently inline skating is really popular in Winnipeg and it wasn't so much of a trail as it was a paved walkway. Rolling into Manitoba
Well we had a wicked lightning and thunder storm last night that really scared us. It was super bright and loud and flashy in the sky so we opted to sleep in the Element. We made the decision pretty late at night so we quickly moved into the Element and braved the elements! It was a really bad storm and we were all pretty cramped up. FINALLY my mum came! It seemed from the time she decided to come (when I was in Chile) to the time she arrived seemed like forever! I was so nervous about her coming and her not having a good time or her getting sick or us not getting to each place we needed to go to next on time I was almost sick with worry! The Centre of North America
... the roof. Every side of the building was quite different and by the water fountain there was a couple having their wedding photos taken. Just up from the building and also scattered around the city were some polar bear sculptures in all sorts of guises including one in beach wear under a brolly holding a salmon. Getting sore feet, we walked back to the van and decided to drive up to Winnipeg Lake 50 miles north for a swim and a nice spot for dinner.

It is STILL Winter in Winnipeg!!
... in Winnipeg because I'm leaving! I'm looking forward to heading back to the warm weather in Wisconsin. I am not looking forward to packing when I get back. I still haven't made my decision about when I'll make my move into the big girl world...after I'm done traveling around the country with Tammy. It will probably be sometime in August. Speaking of packing, I need to get my car together for tomorrow's 8 hour road trip back.
