... I even saw a Sequoia tree which seemed outta place. Close to the summit, I think there were Bristlecone Pine. Whatever be, the trail stayed pretty high today along the Angeles Crest. I made it to mile 384 today, Jimmy Springs Campground, where there is a flowing spring and where about 30 other PCT hikers made camp. We even made a fire tonight. After several train transfers we arrived in the centre of the city right next to the Dolby theatre, when we walked out of the subway we were delighted to see preparations for the Oscars underway. ... this is a well established tradition but what is different this year is that the temperatures in Pasadena are going to hit a record low (around 30 degrees, I think) so there has been a lot of news coverage of those camping out on the street overnight. ... of quick lane changing to get over for the exit, well done Pete!! We make our way off the interstate and try to find the car rental place to return the car. We follow the signs instead of Fanny only to find the car rental lot has moved! We quickly programme Fanny and after a few trips round the block we manage to find it.
