... higher than we probably realised at the time. South of Pinedale, things are a lot better grizzly-wise, but a lot worse mileage wise, and we have our biggest four days coming up by far. + Day 35. Wednesday 17th September. Pinedale to Little Sandy Creek. We had been told by the mechanic in the bike shop that the road surface for the entirety of today's route was good, so we knew it would be a long mileage but quick day. As a result we eeked out every last second at the hotel and ...

Wow, 250 miles later and we are settled in a campground for the nite, with all the amentities I need...ie, cable tv and wifi.  It was very windy today and driving this tall "rig" with a car in tow was a challenge for Gerry...not to mention the elevation (highest was 8690) dropped our speed down to 50-55 in ...

... a fabulous gift shop. Then onward to Rawlins to stay at the RV World Campground for the night. It was an adequate campground with not too many amenities - no pool nor hot tub. But the place was booked solid. It must be a well known spot to take a break for the night. It was very windy here and according to the office staff, not unusual. Cost: $27.54 with discount for the night. I took a walk into town and came ...

... they came out. It's possible that String Lake is the prettiest little lake in the country. :) No trip that Ron takes seems to be complete without an off-road adventure! After a picnic lunch by the lake we traveled on River Road, a four-wheel-drive-access-only road in the park that runs between the Snake River and the Tetons. The Snake River is gorgeous!!! We got out of the car to admire it a few times and I could have looked at it all day. ...
