... considering we haven't yet seen the sky for the smog! So we decided we will wait for another day and went to an area called 1912 which is a series of streets with restaurants, bars and clubs. It's a bit touristy but very nice and we went to a bar called Blue Marlin where we had lots of beer and some pizza. Not very Chinese-y but everyone had a great night with good chat. I exchanged emails with the two Chinese girls Carol and Sunny (those are their English names!) ...

... up close they were peeling a bit! Every so often there would be an information sign along the way or a small exhibition in the gate tower. We decided to walk 3km along passing 2 gates however the wall at some point ran out and we are not sure if we were at our suggested destination. Today we had another day of exploring with the Shephards. After Lochie's footy (soccer) practice and lunch, we picked up Caroline, Lucas and Oliver and headed to Zheng He’s Treasure Shipyard. A Chinese treasure ship was a type of large wooden ship in the fleet of admiral Zheng He, who led 7 voyages during the early 15th century. Through the grounds we explored gardens, statues, waterways, a replica ship (HUGE!) and a working temple. As you can ...
