... at the top the high was 43 today, but there was no wind so it felt fine. The top of Pike's Peak is amazingly flat and it takes a while to walk around the summit. If you look carefully you can see glimpses of the road up. It is a little over 20 miles long and takes about an hour and a half. The world record for the Pike's Peak climb is 8 1/2 minutes. ... is flat and covers a very large area. Of course there is a restaurant and gift shot at summit. Get very scenic views on the train and magnificent views from the summit.

The temperature at Manitou was 70 and at summit about 40 and it was WINDY. We had brought our Yosemite coats on the trip just for today and they certainly came in handy.
