Tumbleweed flowing across the highway, winds 50 miles per hour moving my car, sand clouding my view of the highway and isolated desert towns with less than a thousand inhabitants... my GPS freezes and I am in the middle of nowhere. I laugh in despair looking at my printed Google Maps directions in hopes that I can somehow figure out where I am. No luck. ... and they were delicious!!! Howard and the girls hiked up Manitou Incline and then we went to the Garden of the Gods, which was awesome! Howard went running there, but the hiking was the best. Such awesome things to see!!! Our hotel was near the AF Academy so we could see planes and parachutists this morning. Sad to leave Colorado Springs! We will be back ...

... in thus case are beautiful red rocks worn by years. They rise vertically out of the ground at 90 degree angles. The red of the rocks and the blue if the sky make for stunning contrasts. The sun was setting behind the Rockies glowing against the red faces of the rocks. We felt compelled to hike and so we walked for over an hour surrounded by these peaks and colors.
