... it was the highest peak in the Rockies, but it is only one of 54 mountains that rise above 14,000 feet.

We all got lightheaded and a little bit of a headache while at the summit. They said that the oxygen level up there is 50% less than at the bottom. We felt it for sure.

... with lots of free Children's activities. We spent a hour there and some time in their huge book stores.

The family voted for lunch a Chic-fil-A and it was very good.

From there we headed over to Garden of the Gods. It is wonderful place by the moutains in an area with several short and long hiking trails. We loaded Reed up in a Back-pack and spent an hour or so hiking around ...

... happy that the hotel was able to place us in a room with a king bed and a sofa since Patrick and are sick of double beds. My back is sore and he snores and that makes for two people who are not peaceful sleepers.

... to get there early, especially if we wanted an umbrella.

On this morning every lawn chair was taken and we were left with towels on grass which isn't the worst thing ever but certainly a lawn chair and an umbrella are a bonus given the brutal midday Colorado sun.

We ended up spending most of the day by the pool and going down the water slides. I think Canyon set a single day record of going down the slides over 100 times!

... were on our way. We only had to circle the airport like twice before we figured out how to get where we needed to go! The rental car place suckered us into some prepaid toll thing for what they call "cashless toll roads" which I don’t really trust.
