... uns gefahren.

Wellington, North Island, New Zealand danijosh... include Monteith’s original, DB Draught, and Speight’s Golden Lager. Getting sidetracked again… So we are on the fairy and this little 4 yr old Maori kid pops his head up in front of me and smiles a great big toothless brilliant smile. I smile back at him and I quickly realize I have made a friend for the whole trip. Laura will back me up on this, that kid followed us for at least the ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand thehammsventure... rest of the afternoon dipping in and out of all sorts of exhibits. Good job too as it was blowing a gale and horizontal rain outside as Wellington showed what changeable weather means in New Zealand.

The squall blew through by about 3:30pm when I met up with the young lady who sat next to me on the plane over from Melbourne who was also now in Wellington searching for work. So, we decided to go for ...

Wellington, North Island, New Zealand schwateThis morning we had to be on the bus that was down the road at 6:45am to catch the ferry from Wellington on the North Island, to Picton on the South Island. The ferry was big and really nice, like a smaller version of a cruise ship. They had fairly nice seats that reclined but I couldn't fall asleep. I talked to a girl Gemma and we went out on the deck where it was incredibley windy. The view was beautiful. Large, lush mountains sprinkled throughout the water. I left ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand bethpelletierWe are spending a few days here in Wellington with Grant & Amy - it is rather windy! We have had stops in Gisborne, Napier and Woodville on the way down here and even managed a round of mini golf in Gisborne (Ed won!!) We drove up into the clouds to see a windfarm (the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere apparently) and sat in some hot water. Oh, and the weather has turned cold and windy with a few showers.
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand ed_and_yvetteMy trip through the south island was amazing! I definitely wish I had stayed longer, that was the original plan was to stay thru Monday Mar 9th but I came back to Wellington to spend the weekend w/ Gary and Jude, which has been a lot of fun but could have used the extra days to travel to Kaikoura and Blenheim before making it back North. Can't live in regret tho! When I arrived ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand dholtze... the opportunity to go out in a kayak and have a look around the cove (greeted by the bloody flies whenever I got too close to the shore), Mike and Jackie preferring a drier ride in the tender. Back on board we showered and chatted to one of the crew over dinner before having a read. Monday 9th February Milford Sound to Wanaka Up at 6.30!! Showered, coffee and out to the open sea. Not too much of a swell. We saw some seals lazing on the rocks and crashed through a few waves, then it was ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand dave22... we were the only people there, a truly wonderful walk through the forest but nothing told you of yet another suspended swingbridge, it was not as long as the other one but only 5 people at any one time,we walked back through this amazing forest, all alone with these tall straight trees, some have just fallen, some have fallen through old age so part of it is still left standing some is just rotted & the moss is growing over, dewey cobwebs everywhere, it was so ...
franz josef, North Island, New Zealand minimanor... the crossing reading a book were completely futile and in desperation I got up and went to another level on the ship, where the seats were filled with people glued to the numerous TV screens in the aisles. I casually glanced at one to see what was holding everyone’s attention and in horror realised they were watching the Bathurst 1000, Australia’s greatest motor race. I couldn’t believe it – I’d missed out on watching the V8s thunder around ...
