Day 22 - Gatlingburg - Tennessee
... NSW, on a larger scale accompanied by a lot of bible bashing and patriotism. The problem is that I'm neither a devoted god loving Christian nor am I American, but the majority were and they are the target market. I went to two different shows, one gospel the other country (or hillbilly) and in both the order went God, then veterans, then God bless America, with a hand on the heart standing ovation for an anthem style ...
Day 21 - Gatlinburg - Tennessee
... called "God's World", then I saw a dozen people in t-shirts that said "I was saved by Amazing Grace". They certainly love their religion around here. But they also certainly love their food. There's quite a weight issue. I don't say this is a local issue as many of the people here are in town visiting for the weekend from elsewhere, but I'm sure the 30 odd pancake places here don't really help. What a ...
Bagel stop!

Beautiful time of year to be visiting!
... for an hour through the mountains (yep, even Amber was on her own horse, led by a line hooked up to our trail guide and his horse). A bit scary I thought, at first, because my horse wouldn't always be in the middle of the path, and I was a bit worried about falling down the cliff off my horse, but I kept my balance pretty well... ;) The girls really seemed ...
Boogerman Trail
... foliage. Leaves in every shade of red, orange, yellow, pink, and peach brightened the landscape and made for a very relaxing and enjoyable hike. We even found another giant tulip poplar, this one with a hole in the back, so it was not as obvious from the trail. And the hole went all the way up with light coming in at the very top. Continuing on, the trail twisted around before starting to head back down ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Johnson's Inn Gatlinburg
Wonderful place to stay!!!
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was such a wonderful vacation. The rooms are very clean and affordable. Very peaceful, and great for families. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just a short walk to the heart of Gatlinbug! We will never stay anywhere else but Johnson's Inn when we visit Gatlinburg.
Loved johnson's inn
Just got back from our summer vacation...we stayed at Johnson's Inn after reading the reviews on trip advisor....all reviews were right on the money! The location is perfect...right off the main street and far enough to be away from the noise. The breakfast is good, nothing fancy but plenty.....bagels, toast, cereal, juice, oatmeal, grits, muffins, coffee....the lady running the breakfast is always moving, replenishing items and getting anything you might need, very helpful....and we left a tip at the end of our stay. Check in was smooth and we even checked out movies for our 3 year old who loves watching Disney movies at bedtime....the only downfall is the pool. It is very small but we were always on the go so didnt mind not having a large pool. Everyone is very helpful...the hotel is older but clean and plenty of towels provided after every cleaning. We stayed in a 2 room suite for only $94 per night on saturday and $72 through the week....now i know personally why Johnson's Inn is rated #1! Will definitely stay here again and again!
Holiday Break
My family and i spent 3 nights @Johnson's Inn. We requested ajoining rooms because my sister-in-law and neice came with us. Check-in was a breeze, clerk was very friendly. I was also very please with ours rooms, very clean. Cont. breakfast was good as I as every had at any motel that I've stay at. We have been to Gatlinburg, 4 times.
We always stay @ Johnson's Inn and when we go back, I plan to stay there everytime.
Thanks for making our vacation a better time. George
Million dollar view
We have stayed at Johnson's Inn, at least two times each year for the past twenty years.
Never disappointed. Friendly, caring staff. Their view of the creek flowing by is well worth the trip.
Great for Families
My husband and I stayed May 5 & 6. The room was clean and the staff was helpful.
Their location is perfect because they are in the center of town close to all the attractions.
We had never stayed there before but were suprised at how low rate of our room for the weekend espically in downtown Gatlinburg. We have already made reservations to stay there again this summer when we will bring our 3 kids to Dollywood.A trolly runs by the hotel and this will cut back on driving and save money on gas.I have nothing to bad to say about this hotel.I just didn't know it was there and would have been staying there sooner and more often.
We love Johnson's Inn
I chose Johnson's Inn because I have been reading a lot of positive feedback about it so I told my husband that I wanted for us to try it for our honeymoon.
We went there last Monday ( April 17, 2006 )and went back here in kentucky last thursday (April 20, 2006 ). We are very pleased about the room and the staff are the best staff ever especially the guy who assisted us when we got lost at pigeon forge..hahaha because we got too much excited that we wanted to leave the car immediately and just go shopping ang play miniature golf..
Anyway this coming July we are going back there again with our children and to all of u who wanted a good accomodation and affordable rate at Gatlinburg I think JOHNSON'S INN is the best place to be.
Nice place to stay
Our church group stayed there and it was wonderful.
We were close to restaurants and all the shopping our feet could take. The location is in the center of town and all the attractions were within walking distance.
I am going to suggest to our group leader to stay there next year as well.
Zion Baptist Church
Nice Place
We stayed in the suite overlooking the outside creek
and road. It was near the office. Great room, nice
people, continental breakfast was ok but could have
had 1-2 more nice items, and the location is awesome!
I'd recommend staying here if you want to walk around
and shop Gatlinburg. It's a fun walk to town, along
the creek, near out of the way coffee shops, and
I will return!
Johnsons Inn
We just returned from a weekend trip and stayed at Johnsons Inn in the creekside deluxe room. The room was large with personal ice maker, bar with bar stools, microwave plus gas fireplace. The location can't be beat, just cross the street and you are at The Village shopping area. The rate was very reasonable with the room very clean and quiet. There was a con't. breakfast that we didn't go to as we love Log Cabin Pancake House and can't pass it up.Staff was very friendly and we recommend it.
Location Location Location
This little hotel is located just off traffic light 6 downtown.
The rates were very reasonable and the service was great. Everyone there made us feel special.
Their breakfast was adequate but we walked to the pancake pantry mostly.
We were within walking distance of all major attractions so we didn't have to fight traffic. We also took the trolley that runs hourly by the hotel.
No traffic problems here.
The rooms are very clean and the property is well maintained for the age of the hotel.
They have 2 sections one is a 2 story walk up and they have a newer 4 story tower as well this has an elevator.
All the rooms have private balconies.
We stayed on the 4th floor, and the view is of the surrounding mountains.
WE WILL BE BACK IN THE NEAR FUTURE
