We returned to Yueyang due to the 60-year flood of the Yangtze River. Viking River Cruises made some quick arrangements so we could tour the famous Yueyang Tower and the local marketplace.

We walk the gardens and climb the tower, along with hundreds of visiting Chinese children and their families. My daughter buys a bamboo fan with the two thousand year old poem "Notes to Yueyang Tower" inscribed on the fan in Chinese calligraphy. As she stands in front of the tower with her fan, she smiles and says "A Yueyang Fan For A Yueyang Girl".
