From the first day we heard about family stay, we were all so nervous and scared, we just thought what have we got ourselves into! From the first day we arrived we had this warm feeling that took all that negative thoughts we had away. We were very thankful of our 'late' start this morning. For the first time I actually woke to my my alarm, much better than stirring at 5.30! Once again, we were pushing to ...

There are lots of narrow alleyways (with a souvenir shop or eatery in every available space). Billy gave explanations of the uses of various rooms in the residence we visited. He also gave selections and did a great job of ordering lunch for us. We had a bit of free time to wander around before heading off to Suzhou. Before we did, he offered the ...

... Road to the People’s Square, a busy square downtown Shanghai. There we met my Chinese friends Marion and Katherine for dinner. All Tammy’s family and friends back home were worried about what she would find to eat while in China, but she was quite adventurous and willing to try all kinds of things, including sea snails. Friday we went to a part of Shanghai called the French Concession. It’s a beautiful part of the city with unique architecture and quaint streets ...
