After a good night in Portland, we hit the road for Mt Desert Island and Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We love visiting national parks because they tend to be outstanding examples of the what nature can do when left alone and protected. Acadia was no exception. Luckily, we didn’t have to speak, just stand there looking pretty, and then were able to talk to anyone interested afterwards and help fill out applications. ... at 3:30am and I am pleased to see that everything is fine in the Walmart parking lot. I was a bit nervous going to sleep, but everything is fine and there were a few more RVs around us. Sunrise is set for 4:45am, and the drive to the middle of Acadia and then up Cadillac Mountain is expected to take 45 minutes.
