... the residents aren't much better. Half the town, at least is in ghost town decline; doesn't seem to be any industry except tourism, meaning mainly casinos. Pathetic. But there is an interesting historic railroad museum that still operate both the diesel and steam trains that were essential for transporting ore, and now caters to tourists who like to ride the rails. I didn't get good photos for this place, but it was interesting.

      • I am very excited to go to Las Vegas tomorrow, final fun stop. But I'm starting to miss home. Maybe staying at a hotel in a real bed will feel more like home.

It didn't take us long to find our hotel in Ely and after the welcome margaritas we stayed in the casino for cheap burgers a few bottled beers. No draught beer available yet on this tour.....something has to change. We gambled our complimentary $3 vouchers and made them into $10 for the kitty. Look out Donald Trump we're on our way up! The hotel had ...

Driving into Ely we heard a noise - a steam train whistle. As we got nearer we decided to investigate and we found an old railway station.

We only wanted to take a few pics at first but then we ended up paying 4 dollars each to go on the platform and join a tour of the ...
