    ... had planned to boondock camping on Bureau of Land Management vast acreage around here, but discovered that it's hunting season, and apparently Nevada is BIG into this so there's swarms or hunters up in the hills where we had planned to go. Obviously didn't think it was conducive to our health to have a bunch of hunters with high-powered rifles and maybe a little booze around the evening campfire next to us, so we'll do this next ...

    Come for the sights...then get out fast!

    ... that it has been tough for me not to venture off my highway and into one of the old abandoned cave mines. You know. Just to see... or maybe just for a good journal story. I won't though. I made someone make me make a promise not to.

    August 30th – A long 300+ drive for us today across Nevada. Leaving California we headed out east on Hwy. 120 which is dubbed Roller Coaster Road (and it really was) before meeting up with Hwy. 6 which Dexter thinks folks drive when the Loneliest Hwy (50) is too crowded!
