Great trip down Route 93 to Ely. Passed the "Loneliest Road in America", Route 50, but this has got to be a competitor. Except for spectacular geography, not much along this route, unless you have an ATV that can take you up the dirt roads into the foothills where there seems to be a lot of mines, most of them abandoned.

Pancakes and syrup for breakfast at the local diner then back onto route 50, the loneliest road in America, for pretty much the rest of the day until we meet up later with our friendly hosts Victoria and ...

August 30th – A long 300+ drive for us today across Nevada. Leaving California we headed out east on Hwy. 120 which is dubbed Roller Coaster Road (and it really was) before meeting up with Hwy. 6 which Dexter thinks folks drive when the Loneliest Hwy (50) is too crowded! I think we saw less than a dozen cars on the road with us the entire drive. The landscape along the way was most interesting with long vistas and remains ...

... trailers and buggies, motorbikes etc. People were blasting up the sand and just having fun, carried on and on, basically just drove long straight roads not much to report, the pictures might give you some idea. Reached Ely around 5pm and found another Casino Hotel, ended up with a smoking and pet room P U they are allowed to smoke in ...
