As we pulled out of the harbor, Suzanne pointed out a huge nest on the branch of a dead tree on the shoreline. In the nest was a female osprey and a male was seen watching from a nearby tree. A bit further up, we saw another nest perched atop a navigational marker pole in the water. We passed within 10 feet of it and the female took flight as we neared.
