Day 2, Virginia International Raceway VA
... course the circuit had its own fuel supply located near the North Paddock. There were four pumps with four different types of fuel: 93, 100, 110 and 112 octane.
But they were out of 93 and 100, only the "racing fuels" were available.
We chose 110 octane, no other option. This is a lead containing gasoline but with no bio-ethanol, costing twice as much as regular fuel... I will report tomorrow on how the car liked this type of "food"...

Frederick MD to VIR VA - 559km
... speed of 35 mph along gravel tracks (reduced to this speed from 50 mph at the last minute as the organisers decided that 50 mph was unrealistic!!!). All seemed OK for the first few seconds of bumping down the gravel but then the dodgy trip just stopped counting so that really was the end of that stage for matching the distances and times along the road. We just guessed as we went along and somehow managed to be only 47 ...
Running these dirty old streets
... this boarder of nothing but bicolor. When I say swimming I mean it in ever way. My arms were doing freestyle, my hair was wet, I was spitting out water and I had water in my eyes. The one highlight was that I did hear one quail. Hardly worth the swim but it was still cool. That quail was the only one of the day. After our 2 hour drive home I was still soggy and ready to change.
Hopefully tomorrow will be dry!
