My Mamma told me there'd be days like these!!!! lol Iw was mostly a cloudy drive here, but beautiful sights.. The rain was chasing us into town for the last 10kms or so.. We were both soaking wet by the time we got all set up. We're getting quicker, but it was a tight spot. We decided this would be a good time to go find a dry warm spot for a bite to eat in town.

Finally made it to Midway at 4:30 p.m/ ...

This isn't that deep red beet soup ...

... downhill for miles. Rolled into Republic as their annual Prospector Day's Festival kicked off. Maura had her fish n' chips and I had my Jo Jo's as we listened to live music and walked around the historic town. Republic, once known as Eureka Gulch, was a wild and furious gold rush boom town. We met ...

    All This for Some Fruit???

... me laughing again too. Now the road begins to not only twist and turn but it is turning back on itself and the speed limit goes up and down. The road continues to be narrow and the good old Geezus Handle is getting a very good work out. At one point Heidi looks at me and says, "All this for some fruit?" We laugh again, almost to the point of tears but collect ourselves quickly because the road is sobering. We take one turn a little ...
