    ... savings of not having to stay at a motel or eating out in restaurants it's not so bad. Jan has a new "scrubby-thing" on a stick that she's going to use on the windshield. It just drank a quarter of a big bottle of Dawn. Can't wait to see if it actually works because we wiped out a large percentage of the flying insects between North Carolina and here today. So far she has soap all over the ground and herself. Not sure if the windshield is deriving any benefit. Will keep you ...

    ... the town near the trail (there was a grocery store a couple miles away), and there was only one place to stay. The Doyle Motel is a legendary dive bar on the trail and I had to visit it, or so I was told by multiple people, but I had heard from just as many others or more that the rooms was dingy, dirty and in disrepair, definitely not a pleasant stay. So I passed on that, and I walked through town to a campsite listed in my guidebook that was supposed to have tenting for $5. ...

    ... river isn't that deep in many places, but thanks to a schedules dam release we enjoyed some class 3 white water as we made our way down the river (sorry, but camera was put way before we got to the whitewater).     ... The car was there (via NJ) and cleaned and ready to go. Someone comes and sits with you and goes over all the features in the car, instruments and how to work or change. Now if I remember. All I wanted to know how to work was the Bluetooth and hooking up phone to use my music.
