... camping stoves and chairs all gone. Amazing. We knew traffic, foot traffic and traffic traffic, would be a mess so we decided to walk around Old Pasadena for a bit. Off came the gloves, hats and scarves and into the backpack with our seat cushions and official Rose Parade souvenir programs. If you ever go to the Rose Parade and have bleacher seats make sure to have a seat cushion! It was fun to walk around in the crowd and suddenly those pancakes seemed a long time ...

... well in a hotel where people tend to travel in larger family packs and only one person swipes their card.

I was assigned room 1032, an ocean view room. The decor is the same as it was in 2012, when they were in the process of updating the rooms (so if you had an updated room back then, as I did, you will be familiar with the furniture). Green, maroon and medium tone woods are the colors used. This room is on the Royal Hawaiian side of the hotel; I’ve always had ...

... we wanted to go for breakfast. After that we went back to the hotel room, number 220, grabbed some stuff for today and I ordered a Lyft to take us to Hollywood. I had never done that before and for some stupid reason the marker moved, so the driver stopped at the wrong address, but a few minutes later he arrived. I told him to take us to sunset boulevard where I knew they had this massive shoe store called 'Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse'. The driver stopped right in front of ...

... mall, only big enough for 2 cars! Bob was pretty happy to have a look around and chat to the guy. Fortunately too big for the suitcases and too big for the wallet. $85,000 for the basic model, which was still pretty plush, $135,000 for the spec'd up model. 500 km range on one charge. A bit better than a shopping gopher! Yes, 3 pair of shoes bought, 2 of them by Bob! We're pretty happy with our deals. Checked the local ...
