We stayed in a Hotel for the first time on our trip while we visited Mount Rushmore. The drive though the Black Hills of South Dakota is worth every moment. I would love to do it on my Motorcycle. Deadwood is a turn of the century town with all of it characters.

... the gravel roads and finally end up in corn fields lost !! The woman I asked for directions - she and her daughter were laughing but they got us on track and really I wasn't that far off base ! Well this was another Gem that blew us away because we were not expecting the whole quarter section of land to be involved in reenacting their homestead. Cory was totally asleep so I knew it wasn't her, so I looked out of the tent and saw two wild dogs running around...maybe coyotes but Im not sure. I was actually thankful for the one stepping on my head because I got to catch the gorgeous sunrise!

Hello everyone!!!!

Thanks for following along, we are trying to post as much as we can. Since our last post, we spent our 2nd day in Chicago (July 3rd)... we started off the day with breakfast in our hotel and than went on a 90 minute boat cruise on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, to see the entire city from a distance. Last posting was from Jamestown, ND I believe. We stopped there after crossing over into ND at Fargo and driving around 100 miles directly west into the state. Had a decent HIExpress, and then we got up yesterday morning and left Jamestown on US Highway 281 (not an interstate, although 4-lane part of the way). When we got up we were headed to St. Louis and within 2 hours we made it. We decided t go to the arc which is a huge monument about 620 feet high and you can go in little capsules up to the top and look over the city. The experience was awesome and we got some great pictures. After we went downtown to a park and ate lunch and were off to kansas city.
