    ... gave us was wrong. Room was right next to the kitchen and the pot banging started early. This was probably why there was a white noise machine in the room. But slept well. Monday Got up 7:00ish. There was French toast in the breakfast fare. Got cleaned up and headed back to Portland to go to Blue Star Donuts and Knit Purl. Got donuts and more yarn in Portland.     ... cliffs as we rode through the pass right along the edge of the Crooked River. As it turned out there was no accommodation at Prineville so we about faced and went back to Redmond and grabbed the last 6 rooms at the Super 8. We will complete the scenic option giver to us in Bend tomorrow when we strike out for Boise, that means another border crossing as we head into Idaho.

    ... for us! And her hostel happened to be just across the road - perfect! Back on the road for Palm Springs. It was busy on our way out of LA but we got out eventually. At times the roads were about 8 lanes wide. We stopped at a Walmart just before Palm Springs to get supplies. We ran into Dana and her car load doing the same thing, they had also done the long drive from Big White. We arrived in Palm Springs soon after, it was such a cool place! ...

    ... We went to a country fair in the afternoon but again it was a bit hot to really enjoy as there wasn't much shade. It was nice to see the families out enjoying themselves though.
