    We left Chester, CA early for the 290 mile (470km) run to Canyonville OR. It was freezing (42F/5C) but Digger was OK in his Limo with the heater on!!!!

    ... so much bigger than the ones in Colorado, extending far inland, home to forests, houses, and roadways. Because of some hatching season, we were not allowed to walk on the sand with Ebony but the views were gorgeous anyway.

    We camped that night at the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park where a feral cat tried to eat our dogfood and our smoked salmon. More rain, but not too bad. We got a good night's sleep in preparation for more coastal adventures the next day.

    ... Winery and Distillery right on the bank of the Umpqua River. A lovely home with tasting room in the back overlooking the river. Good wine there too. Sandy Glaser is the winemaker and her son Leon is the distiller - making some lovely little liqeuors. I think we could have happily spent several more days in this area but it was time to move on. Next stop Durango RV Park in Red Bluff CA.
