There was even a period when one of the clan, won national competitions for the quality of the pelts from his mink farm. A few furry remnants remain. I know fur coats are cruel and I suppose I’m glad they are no longer vogue– but they were also very soft and cosy!

So our start was delayed as we looked around this fascinating 'museum' – which ...

... for a total of 23 miles. Later, we took Braddock for a four mile walk and he passed out when we got back. Probably because he spent most of the walk frantically trying to chase rabbits through the tall grass. Once, he also tried chasing a small snake, but fortunately, we got him away from that quickly. Now let's see if we can get through one night in Nebraska without a ...

Jenee' and I decided that our theme song for the trip would be "The Great Adventure" by Steven Curtis Chapman. The phrase “Saddle up your horses” as the opening lyrics helps to tie into our western theme for this trip.

We were able to get going from the Beatty House at 8 am and start ...

Today I really wanted to get to Gothenburg. It would put me in a good schedule of getting to Omaha. Just like yesterday, not much to report. The weather was good though. It's always nice to have wind at your back. I got to North Platte and felt good. I found ...

          Lexington Meet and Greet

Stopped in Lexington for a meet and greet opportunity in the meeting room of the Grand Generation Center.

Community leaders attended, including the sheriff, officers of the local Republican Party, and several Lexington political movers and shakers.

Lexington is a great example of community cooperation and forward thinking in business development and job creation.

          Loved being there!
