      ... were too hot to proceed. The good news was that Bob's nosebleed had stopped and he had enough confidence to exit the truck for a hasty picnic while the brakes cooled and Dianne & Jake enjoyed the panorama views. The truck made it to the first gas station in Manitou Springs, we found a delightful patio for a glass of wine & the pictures were spectacular. Please don't ask Bob what he thought of the view!

      ... quiet for the rest of the night. Oh well, you can't complain for free. The drive to Colorado Springs today was very easy even though we went over a 9300' pass is was very gradual. We will be here 3 days and then off to the flat lands of Kansas. Lucky our son, Andy, is in Denver on business so we will be seeing him tomorrow for dinner.
