... but Nev enjoyed a coke and a packet of chips. It was hot and dry in the desert! We saw a wind farm, and a Solar Farm, and a few feed lots for cattle. Then hit some mountains on our way (Rocky?) ... He really knew how to put on a good show and engage the kids. At the end of the day, we were all pooped. We head back to T's home and lounge outside in the patio area. D whips up some wonderfully delicious drinks and we all relax until our eyes can't stay open any longer.
We all retire, knowing that the next day holds another busy day (they to school, me off to Vegas). It's been a wonderful start to this trip, especially visiting with T, E and D.

For appetizers we ordered the Burrata with Roasted Garlic. It was wonderful. The house-made Burrata was perfect. It was soft enough to spread easily on the crostini, yet firm enough on the outside to not fall apart. It was served in a half-pint, lidded canning jar, which again, tied in with the casual theme of the dining tables.

Awakened in hotel, wonderful nights' sleep, kind of the calm before we get on the bikes tomorrow morning. We will be sight seeing in our budget truck and riding our bikes to the ocean for the first dip. We are making the last arrangements. We have so little room and so few clothes. Scott's one pair of long pants just ripped. Good thing I have a sewing kit.
Just saw that the desert we will be riding through will be 90 today. Odd for this time of ...
