... Lake Wasa with one eye out for the Mounties, helmets are required here and guess what, no headgear. Also, we drove a few miles south to Fort Steele Heritage Town. This was a typical turn of the century town of the east Kootenays with over 60 restored or reconstructed buildings.

I give Wasa and Fort Steele three bars on the slot reel.

The scenery always helps to compensate for any discomforts so we stopped for some nice shots. at the end of the day, Heather and I stopped for supper at the restaurant in the yellow house in Moyie River. I had a pesto chicken burger with sun-dried tomatoes - to die for. And the French fries were delicious, like good old fashioned home fries used to be everywhere.


This motel, located on 1209 Cranbrook Street North, Cranbrook, is near St. Eugene Mission Golf Course and Canadian Museum of Rail Travel.
